Party Gaming to Add Gamebookers to its Online Casino Package? 27 Jul 2006 The British business media was rife this week with rumors after it was revealed that online casino group Party Gaming has been involved in talks with Gamebookers, a top sports online casino. For months Party Gaming has been talking about spreading into the sports betting market, and the online casino company seems to have found its acquisition target - for a price tag of GBP 50 million! Gamebookers was founded in 1998 and is currently owned by Trident Gaming. If concluded, the online casino acquisition deal could be finalized within two to three weeks. The operation is licensed in Antigua, but also has a UK bookmakers' permit. Neither online casino companies would comment on the reports, and this secrecy makes it even clearer that the deal could be in the final stages. Many leading online casino companies have been branching into the sports industry because it is clear that this is one of the top new sectors of the online casino industry. Online casino sites are either offering tabs with links to sports betting sites, or they are emerging as partners with sports betting sites. | |||
